Friends of the Solana Beach Library 2026 Scholarship Award Program
The Friends of the Solana Beach Library proudly announces the opening of the 2026 Scholarship Award Program. This year, three (3) $1,000 scholarships for higher education are offered to graduating high-school seniors, continuing students, students returning to school after a gap, or graduate students.
Each scholarship is a one-time award to be used for education at a community college, a four-year college or university, a graduate/professional school or a technical/vocational/career school. The scholarship money may be used for tuition, books, fees, room and board or other related educational expenses.
Each applicant must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher for the three most recent years for which a GPA is available. Consideration will be given to financial need, GPA, participation in extracurricular and community activities, awards and a personal statement.
An application form for the 2026 Friends Scholarship, the judging rubric, and also a list of answers to frequently asked questions are available on the Friends website: www.friendsofsolanabeachlibrary.org/scholarships.
Students must complete and submit the application forms by May 15, 2026, including an essay, completed waivers, and an uploaded letter of recommendation. More specific information is included in the scholarship application form.
New to the scholarship program this year is a digital only application. Applicants needing assistance with digital access can contact the FOSBL scholarship committee at scholarship@fosbl.org.
Also new this year is a judging rubric to help guide applicants with their application.
Members of the Board of Directors of the Friends of the Solana Beach Library, their immediate family members, and other members of their household are excluded from consideration.
There is no applications fee. Applicants will be notified with their applications are received.
